Server Platform Support Changes

...

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows Server

  • Database: Microsoft SQL Server

  • Development Platform: .NET Framework

On the server side, this is the set of Windows Server, SQL Server, and .NET versions on which the release has been tested. For example, in By convention, Grand Avenue Software adds or removes server platform support only at major releases.

At the GAS 16.0 release notes, we Grand Avenue announced discontinued support for SQL Server 2012 and added support for SQL Server 2022. For hosted GAS installations, no customer action is required for these platform changes because Grand Avenue manages the platforms in the hosting environment. For an on-premise customer running SQL Server 2012, on the other hand, this would mean a mandatory upgrade of their SQL Server instance to a supported version before upgrading to GAS 16.0.
