Customers have asked whether Grand Avenue can insert a watermark, timestamp, or other text into document files to indicate that the document has been released and, potentially, downloaded from an electronic document control system.

No, Grand Avenue has no ability to modify the contents of document files. The Grand Avenue application has no knowledge of the format of files or how to modify their contents. Regardless of the file type (e.g. Microsoft Word, plain text, PDF), Grand Avenue manages all files as binary data.

With the exception of the database’s full text indexing tools, GAS has no knowledge of the format of files or how to modify their contents.
