How do I chart the number of DCRs that are rejected during Formal Review?

Grand Avenue allows users to search for Document Change Requests (DCRs) based on whether they were rejected during Formal Review.

The example below shows two methods to chart DCRs rejected over a 12-month period.

Click the expand (>) controls below to display an example of each method.

  1. Click Search for Change Requests and enter the search criteria. Depending on the number of change requests returned, the value in Max # of Items to Display may need to be cleared.

  2. Click Generate Chart for Results to create a chart of rejected DCRs.

  3. This example shows a chart to trend the number of DCRs rejected per month by originating department.

To generate charts with additional detail, proceed to the next option.

  1. Click Search for Change Requests and enter the search criteria. Depending on the number of change requests returned, the value in Max # of Items to Display may need to be cleared.

  2. Click Export Results to Excel to initiate the data export.

  3. At the bottom of the next page, click Export Results to Excel to export the raw data to a CSV file. Open the exported CSV file and save it as an Excel Workbook (.xlsx).

Below is an example of a chart that can be created from raw DCR data exported from Grand Avenue to an Excel CSV file. This chart was generated from the results of two separate exports from Grand Avenue: the number of DCRs rejected during Formal review and the number that were not rejected during Formal review in the specified timeframe.

  4. Remove the unnecessary columns and add a column to identify whether each DCR was rejected during formal review.

DCRs Not Rejected During Formal Review

5. Combine the two lists.

  1. Use the exported data to generate a PivotTable in Excel.

  2. Create a PivotChart showing the total number of DCRs processed per month, broken down by whether the DCR was rejected during Formal Review.
