How does a new company name impact my GAS installation?

When a company name changes, one or more of the following actions may be needed:


(Required) Notify Grand Avenue Software

For billing purposes, notify accounting@grandavenue.com of the name change. Please CC support@grandavenue.com to make sure your technical contact information is updated.


(Optional) Update the Company Name Displayed in GAS

Anyone with the system administrator role may change the name displyed at the top of every Grand Avenue Software (GAS) page. See the example below.

  1. Update the Company Name.

 

4, Update the Installation Name. This is the name shown at the top of every page.

 

Hosted Customers Only: Please leave the Production, Training, Upgrade, or Evaluation identifier in place when the Installation Name is updated.

  1. Click Save.


(Hosted customers only) Update the URLs to the GAS application

If you choose to update the URLs used to access your GAS environments, those changes are performed by customer support. If you would like the URLs to reflect the new company name, contact support@grandavenue.com to schedule an hour of downtime at your convenience.

(Optional) Update email addresses on user accounts

If users' email addresses are transitioning to a new domain, customers using Grand Avenue 15.3 and later may use an administrative update to update user email addresses in Grand Avenue. The basic steps are as follows:

  • Export a list of all active users.

  • Perform a mass replacement of email addresses in the exported data.

  • Administratively update user accounts.

  1. Click Search/Chart > Search for Users.

  1. Enter search criteria as shown in the example.

  1. Click Search.

  1. When the search results are displayed, click Export Results to Excel.

  1. Edit the CSV file. Use your preferred editor to find all instances of @OldName.com and replace them with @newName.com in the export file and save it.

  1. Remove the columns not used for the administrative change.

  1. Click Administrative Actions > Manage Users > Administrative update for User Field Values.

  1. Select Field to Update = “Email Address”.

 

  1. Upload the CSV file with the new email addresses.

 

  1. Enter the reason for the change and your signoff key.

 

  1. Click Update User Field Values.

  1. Verify that a confirmation message says users have been updated.
