Can Historical Document Revisions be Imported into Grand Avenue?

No, Grand Avenue Software allows only one document revision (i.e., the latest effective revision) to be imported for the purpose of initializing the system. After importing one revision, all subsequent revisions of the same document must be initiated via DCR. Superseded and obsolete revisions cannot be imported.

If historical revisions (i.e., revisions created outside of Grand Avenue) of a controlled document are needed for reference, a recommended approach is to import the latest effective revision as a controlled document and attach historical revisions as additional files for that document.
