Is there a process for design/engineering changes in Grand Avenue?

Grand Avenue uses the same processes for both design/engineering changes and quality system document changes. The Document Change Request (DCR) process is intended to encompass the approval and implementation of both product and non-product changes.

Customers who want to classify DCRs as either document change requests or engineering change requests have the option to do so by configuring a coding field for the change type. This article describes how to:

Add a “Change Type” Coding Field

  1. Click Configure Document ControlConfigure Document Control Fields.

  2. Go to the table titled Configurable Fields for Change Requests.

  3. Click Edit on a CodingField where the Field Name column is blank as shown in the example below.

     

  4. Enter a Name for the field.

     

  5. Click the “Edit Valid Values” button at the bottom of the page.

  6. Enter the possible values for Change Type, separated by commas, and click “Save.”

     

  7. Click “Save” on the Edit Configurable Field page.


Use the “Change Type” Coding Field

The example below shows the dropdown list options for the required Change Type field when creating a new change request.
