Yes, all changes to business data (e.g. Documents, CAPAs, NCMRs) and administrative data (e.g. configuration settings, departments, users) are tracked in audit trail records that reside in the Grand Avenue system database.  Grand Avenue also logs all security events (e.g. authentication attempts, password change attempts) in the Grand Avenue database.

Changes to Data

The audit trail for many items is exposed to users through “View Audit Trail” links. Audit trail records include the action performed, the timestamp of when the action was performed, a snapshot of the data before and after the change, and the user ID of the user who made the change.

Changes to Configuration Settings

The audit trail for configuration settings is not directly exposed through links in the user interface. The records are accessible only with assistance from Grand Avenue Customer Support.

The example below shows the audit trail for two changes to the System Time Zone :

  1. System Time Zone changed from UTC to Central Standard Time

  2. System Time Zone changed from Central Standard Time back to UTC

Security Events

Security events are recorded in the Grand Avenue database for all attempts to authenticate users (i.e. enter user ID and/or password) and change passwords. To find these records, a system administrator can click the “Search for Security Events” link in the left-hand navigation bar.

Contact support@grandavenue.com for assistance in obtaining audit trail information for a specific item or configuration setting.
