Grand Avenue has multiple roles that allow users to manage training, each with a different scope of authorization.

Training Management Roles

  • Training Coordinator

  • Department Manager

  • Department Trainer

  • Item Trainer

  • Training Viewer

Training Coordinator

  • Authorized to manage training for all users and training items* defined in the system

  • Assigned by the Training Module Administrator

  1. Click Training Management > Configure Training

  2. Click Manage Role Assignments

  3. Click “Assign Roles for User” or edit the role assignments of an existing user

  4. Set Training Module Coordinator to “Yes”

Department Manager

  • Authorized to manage training for users assigned to their departments

  • Assigned by the System Administrator

  1. Click Administrative Actions > Manage Departments

  2. Click Define Departments

  3. Click “Add Department” or edit an existing department

  4. Enter the Manager’s user ID

Department Trainer

  • Authorized to manage training for users in departments they are assigned to as a trainer

  • Assigned by the Training Coordinator

  1. Click Training Management > Define Trainers

  2. Click “Add Trainer” or edit an existing trainer

  3. Click the “Add Departments” button

Item Trainer

  • Authorized to manage training for training items* they are assigned to as a trainer

  • Assigned by the Training Coordinator

  1. Click Define Trainers

  2. Click “Add Trainer” or edit an existing trainer

  3. Click “Add General Training Items”, “Add Documents”, or “Add Training Profiles”

Training Viewer

  • Authorized to view training status for all users and training items*

  • Assigned by the Training Module Administrator

  1. Click Configure Training

  2. Click Manage Role Assignments

  3. Click the “Assign Roles for User” button or edit the role assignments of an existing user

  4. Set Training Viewer to “Yes”

*Training Item definition: a controlled document or General Training Item
