This is a PDF file indexer to be used with SQL Server full-text indexing.

Use the following instructions to download and install the IFilter for full-text indexing of PDF files:

1. Download the Adobe PDF IFilter 9 for 64-bit platforms .msi file.

2. Double-click the downloaded .msi file to start the installer.

3. Follow the instructions in the installer wizard to complete the installation.

4. Locate and record the path to the "bin" folder of the installation.

5. Set the default PATH environment variable for the system to always include the path to the "bin" folder.

   • Open a Command Prompt and run "sysdm.cpl".

   • Click the "Advanced" tab.

   • Click the "Environment Variables..." button.

   • Select the "Path" entry in the "System variables" list and click the "Edit" button.

   • Append the path to the "bin" folder to the end of the "Variable value" (e.g. %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe PDF iFilter 9 for 64-bit platforms\bin).

   • Click the "OK" button to close each dialog and save your changes.
