Training Module Coordinators, Department Managers, and Trainers all have the ability to manage incomplete training (and certification) and assign refresher training. The difference between them is the scope of their authorization.

  • Training Module Coordinators are authorized to manage training for all users and training items.

  • Department Managers are authorized to manage incomplete training for users in the departments they manage.

  • Department Trainers are authorized to manage incomplete training for users in designated departments, regardless of the trainer’s own department.

  • Item Trainers are authorized to manage incomplete training for designated Documents and General Training Items.

  • Training Viewers can view training for all users and training items.

Training Module Coordinators

  • Training Module Coordinators are authorized to manage training for all users and training items*

Department Managers

Department Managers are authorized to manage incomplete training for users in the departments they manage.

Department Trainers

Department Trainers are authorized to manage incomplete training for users in departments they are assigned to as a trainer, regardless of the trainer’s own department. This includes the following actions:

  • Assign Read & Understand Training

  • Assign Refresher Training

  • Mark Training Complete

  • Mark Certification Complete


Item Trainers

Item Trainers are authorized to manage incomplete training for designated Documents and General Training Items. This includes the following actions:

  • Assign Read & Understand Training

  • Assign Refresher Training

  • Mark Training Complete

  • Mark Certification Complete

Training Viewers

Training Viewers can view training for all users and training items*. They cannot manage anyone’s training.

*Training Item: a controlled document or General Training Item
