System Administrator is the default (“bootstrap”) user account created when installing Grand Avenue. The purpose of the account is to provide a way to create additional administrator accounts. Apart from being assigned the System Administrator role, there are no special privileges associated with this account. Other users assigned the System Administrator role have exactly the same permissions.

On-premise Grand Avenue Installations

For on-premise (non-hosted) installations, customers are free to use the System Administrator account. Keep in mind, however, that for 21 CFR Part 11 (Electronic Records; Electronic Signatures) compliance, account sharing between individuals is not permitted.

Hosted Grand Avenue Installations

For installations hosted by Grand Avenue, use of the System Administrator account is reserved for exclusive use by Grand Avenue customer support for maintenance and troubleshooting purposes. Hosted customers should not assign tasks, training requirements, or additional role assignments to this account.
