How do I modify the deliverables in a closed phase of a Design Project?

Closed Design Project phases cannot be reopened. If any Design Project phase requires additional work after it has been closed, the recommended best practice is to add one or more ad hoc deliverables in the current phase to represent updates to the previous phase’s deliverables. This more accurately reflects how the project ran from a timeline perspective.

The Design Project Manager may add ad hoc deliverables to any open phase that is not in phase review or phase signoff by clicking the “Add Ad Hoc Deliverables” button.

Example

The Risk Management Plan was a Phase 2 deliverable, and Phase 2 is now closed. If new risk information is discovered during Phase 3, reopening Phase 2 could potentially allow the revisions of all deliverable documents frozen at the end of Phase 2 to update to their latest released revisions. Therefore, closed phases are not allowed to be reopened.

Instead, a best practice is for the Project Manager add an ad hoc deliverable to the current open phase.

As is true with all deliverables, the Phase 3 ad hoc deliverable will point to the latest effective revision of the Risk Management Plan until phase 3 is frozen.
