When reconfiguring training profiles, how do I prevent users from receiving notifications of new training tasks for training that has already been completed?

Completed training records are retained permanently, even if a training requirement is removed and readded or the source of a training requirement changes (e.g., a training item changes from being assigned directly to a user to being assigned through a training profile).

  • If a user is assigned a new requirement for a document revision or general training item on which training was previously completed, the existing training record will prevent new incomplete training records from being created.

    • The only way users can have multiple training records for the same document revision or general training item is through refresher training.

  • If a user is assigned a new requirement for a document revision or general training item on which training was not previously completed, the system will create an incomplete training record. Alone, that incomplete training record generates no training tasks. Users receive tasks only after being assigned to complete their own training.

    • While adding new training profiles or reorganizing existing training profiles, new training records may be temporarily created and deleted. To avoid notifications of incomplete training from being sent to users while this work is in process, delay assigning users to complete their own training until the process is complete.
